Town Vsetin

Characteristics of the festival site:

Town Vsetin is situated on both banks of the river Becva, locked by forested slopes of the Vsetin hills and Javorniks, in altitude 345 meters above the sea level. Main quality of the town is beautiful nature and by civilization untouched pitoresque sites in numerous valleys cut in surrounding hills.

Systematic and purposeful care for the environment is bringing its fruit. Thanks to unique project ISPA, Clear water Becva, are Vsetin and all Valassky region proud of its most accomplished system of purifying sewage water in Europe. Due to conceptual work in building bicycle routes, sport centers and other places for free time activity is Vsetin included among the most active towns in the National network of healthy towns.

All participants of the festival have for the duration of the festival Vsetin krpec free entrances to all cultural sites, library with internet connection, observatory, nightclubs, city spa area with inside and outside swimming pools with spiral chute and possibility of balneotherapy.

Location and transport availability

Geographical location of town Vsetin is in central Moravia. Ethnographical location is in Region Valassko, sometimes is this sub-region in central Valassko called Vsacko. In state legislation is this area located as the former district town, among towns with larger sphere of action in the Zlin region.

Vsetin has currently 30 thousands inhabitants and it is located on 5 761,49ha.

Transport to Vsetin is not difficult at all. Town is located on crossroad of road I/57 from Valasske Mezirici towards Slovakia and road I/69, direction from Zlin. As means of transport it’s possible to use suburban and long distance bus lines (from Ostrava, Zlin, Brno, Valasske Klobouky and Slovakia).

Convenient is also train connection by the regional railway tracks direction from Valasske Klobouky, Horni Lidec- Valasse Mezirici, Bystrice pod Hostynem, Hulin, Kromeriz, Ostrava and fast trains sirection Prague-Slovakia. Connections to EuroCity and InterCity trans is in Hranice (approx. 40km), to Pendolino in Olomouc (approx. 80km). The closest airport is in Ostrava-Mosnov (approx. 65km).
