17^th International Festival of Children´s Folk Ensembles “Singing and Dancing”

10 to 13 September  2009, Luhačovice

The international festival of children´s folk ensembles takes place in the beautiful environment of the spa town of Luhačovice. The ensembles are from Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia and there are usually four o five guest groups from abroad. The festival has gained wide acceptance in Luhačovice and the surrounding region. It has been included in the schedules of European and world children´s folklore events. In 2005 it attained the statute of a permanent member of the CIOFF.

Luhačovice is the largest Moravian spa, with a long-standing tradition in the treatment of respiratory, digestive, and motor disorders as well as of diabetes. The Luhačovice mineral springs are listed among the most effective in Europe. The development of the spa is inseparably linked with the work of the outstanding Slovak architekt Dušan Jurkovič.
