8th South Bohemian Folk Festivity

1 August 2009, České Budějovice

This event, whose main organizer is the South Bohemian Folklore Association, brings a mosaic of South Bohemian and foreign folklore, South Bohemian cuisine, and a folk fair to Přemysl Otakar II Square—one of the largest in Europe—in the city center of České Budějovice. You are cordially invited to this festivity, where you may admire the beauty of folk culture presented by the folk ensembles, sample the delights of South Bohemian cuisine, buy traditional handicraft products at the folk fair … If you come with children, you may attend a small theatrical show or try painting and drawing in the little graphic artists´ corner.

České Budějovice is the administrative and cultural metropolis of the South Bohemian region. Situated at the confluence of the rivers Vltava (Moldavia) and Malše, it boasts many historical monuments. While visiting the South Bohemian festivity, do not forget to taste the famous local beer—the traditional Budějovice Budvar.
