SILESIAN DAYS IN DOLNI LOMNA 13th - 14th September 2008
The festival Silesian Days in Dolni Lomna has been running now for about forty years. Every year it hosts twenty groups, ten adult, seven children and three from abroad. The main organizer of the festival is the Silesian Matice society which built a nature reserve with wooden cottages at the junction of Krinov and Lomnanky specifically for the festival.
An integral part of the festival is the long march along the Manes trail, throughout the reserve there are demonstrations of traditional crafts and there is an exhibition at the old saw mill. The Silesian Krmas – a traditional cake – is particularly popular.
Dolni Lomna is a beautiful unspoiled valley. The village of Dolni Lomna is found on the border of Poland and Slovakia, 8 kms from the town of Jablunkov. During the festival shuttle buses will provide return transport from Jablunkov train station to the reserve.
