“František Lýsek´s Oder Basin” Festival

This festival was created in 2004 on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of the birth of František Lýsek, PhD, a musical pedagogue, founder and choir master of Jistebnice Little Singers, and collector of folk songs from the Oder Basin (the Lašsko ethographic area). The festival aims to continue and fulfill Dr Lýsek´s musical and vocal folklore legacy. Participants are child and adult choirs and folk ensembles.

In 2009, the festival is scheduled for the following dates and places:

Dates and locations for the FPFL in 2009:

24^th - 25^th April: Ostrava-Proskovice , concert by children's singing groups and a programme of folk groups.

29^th - 30^th May: Stara Ves nad Ondrejnici, “Stara Ves cloisters” - singing concert, “Jizda kole obila” -  a ride around all the Stara Ves borders, performance by folk groups.

19^th June: Stara Ves nad Ondrejnici, folk evening at the castle and performance by the groups from abroad.

20^st June: Jistebnik, concert by singing groups.
