“František Lýsek´s Oder Basin” Festival

This festival was created in 2004 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of František Lýsek, PhD, a musical pedagogue, founder and choir master of Jistebnice Little Singers, and collector of folk songs from the Oder Basin (the Lašsko ethographic area). The festival aims to continue and fulfill Dr Lýsek´s musical and vocal folklore legacy. Participants are child and adult choirs and folk ensembles.

In 2009, the festival is scheduled for the following dates and places:

Dates and locations for the FPFL in 2009:

24th - 25th April: Ostrava-Proskovice , concert by children's singing groups and a programme of folk groups.

29th - 30th May: Stara Ves nad Ondrejnici, “Stara Ves cloisters” - singing concert, “Jizda kole obila” -  a ride around all the Stara Ves borders, performance by folk groups.

19th June: Stara Ves nad Ondrejnici, folk evening at the castle and performance by the groups from abroad.

20st June: Jistebnik, concert by singing groups.
