12th National Costumed Ball7 February 2009, Prague The National Costumed Ball of the FolkloreAssociation of the Czech Republic is the mostspectacular costumed ball in the whole country.About seven hundred participants wearingdiverse folk costumes offer a unique show ina variegated program which brings togetherlarge numbers of prominent visitors fromboth the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2009, thisattractive presentation of Czech, Moravian, and Silesianfolk culture will take place in the halls and ceremonialrooms of one of the foremost examples ofPrague art nouveau architecture – the MunicipalHouse, a national cultural monument. The programwill be thematically dedicated to the Plzeň (Pilsen)ethnographic region, which also promises refreshmentsin the form of the traditional Pilsner Urquelland other regional specialities. In addition, the ballwill feature a variety of traditional costumes anddances from the whole Czech Republic.
