5^th International Folklore Festival “Marienbad Autumn”

17 to 20 September, Mariánské Lázně (Marienbad)

 This is a folklore festival in Indian summer colors. On that weekend the lovely Marienbad valley becomes suffused with various colors that harmonize wonderfully with the splendid folk costumes. The rich show is held principally in the center of the spa town and most of the programs take place in an open-air setting. Some of the programs are to be seen on the elegant spa collonade near the singing fountain. The gala concert is scheduled for Friday in the municipal theater. The  Saturday and some of the Sunday performances take place in the central park close to the collonade, where the main stage, the craft fair, and the stalls with refreshments are situated. The program will be complemented with an ethnographic exhibition. The exhibition has already presented the folklore of Greece and Slovakia; this year it will be another European country.
