40th International Folklore Festival “Liptál Festivities”

The main festival programs take place in the open-air amphitheater of the former castle park. On Friday evening there is a party given by the local host ensemble Lipta for the participants and guests from abroad, during which all the ensembles teach one another their respective regional folk dances. On Saturday afternoon children´s ensembles take the stage. The evening program of “kind people and nice mood” ends late at night with fireworks. The entertainment then continues at midnight with music and dancing. On Sunday afternoon the festive parade of the ensembles and musical bands starts through the town, followed by the gala program called “Let´s dance”.
Liptál is a rather small town in easternMoravia 9 km southwest of Vsetín on the road from Vsetín to Zlín. In recognition of its cultural activities Liptál was declared “Village of the year 2006” of the Czech Republic.
