9^th International Mistřín Folklore Festival

The township of Svatobořice-Mistřín lies at the heart of the ethnographic subregion of Dolňácko in the area of Kyjov. The festival is linked with a long-standing tradition of folklore background, especially Varmuža´s dulcimer band or the Mistříčanka brass band. During the years of its existence, dozens of foreign folk groups and hundreds of domestic ensembles and groups have taken turns on its stages. The core of the festival programs draws on a large amount of preserved materials related to the spiritual and material culture of the area. An integral part of the event are Sunday concerts of religious music. However, favorers of other genres are also remembered, so that visitors may have fun at an authentic American country dance or attend a theatrical performance. Children may enjoy workshops, theatrical shows, and other attractions.
