Interesting tourist sites

* One of the most interesting sites is the castle (photo number 1.), which was built in 1604-1610. Inside we can find today Museum of the Region Valassko where you can see expositions of the history of the uprisings of local people in Valassko, art and handicrafts, Exposition of Ethnography. In the castle we can also discover the Honorary Hall dedicated to Hlavica Brother.

*Part of the castle is Mastaliska (photo number 2.), another interesting site of the town. Former farm steading, built in 1710. According to the project of architect Michal Urbanek the estate went under changing of the facade and adding the spire in years 1893-94. Today is all estate completely renovated, used for commercial purposes.

Significant Vsetin native – architect Michal Urbanek – author of many interesting real estates in town – Sokol house or New Town hall (photo number 3.), built in new-renaissance style, transformed into hotel in 2006. Urbanek also participated on finishing the Citizens loan office (photo number 4.), decorated by his friends Mikolas Ales sgrafitos. Another interesting sgrafito, created by Jan Kobzan, we can see on the former hotel Brezacek located on the Dolni namesti (Lower square).

* In the town Vsetin we can see some of the modern architecture sites. Significant features of functionalist architects L.Hilgert and A. Tenzer are on Komercni Banka building on Dolni namesti (photo number 5.) and department store Rodinger – also on the Dolni namesti.
