8th International Folklore Festival in Český Krumlov

25 to 26 September 2009, Český Krumlov

 Since its beginning in 1992, this festival has been gradually transformed into an international meeting of children´s folklore ensembles, relying on the experience of the local children´s group Jitřenka (Morning Star) founded in 1975. The festival is part of St Wenceslas festivities, so that it includes a variety of traditional crafts. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet master craftsmen who will display their products right in the Solidarity Square where the main stage will be erected. 

The town of Český Krumlov was inscribed in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1992. The historical center is one of the most frequently visited places in the Czech Republic for its many protected monuments, including the second largest castle and chateau complex in the country and one of the best preserved Baroque theaters in the world. Other attractions of the town include several galeries and museums, as well a a theater with a revolving stage.
