27th Haná Festivities in Prostějov
12 and 13 September 2009, Prostějov
The Haná Festivities were first held in 1992 in the framework of the Prostějov folk fair with handicraft displays, which has already a 300 year-old tradition. Its program has had a fixed structure from the very beginning. The morning belongs to children´s folk ensembles in a program called Haná Spring, while the main program in the afternoon is reserved to adult groups. Originally strictly dedicated to the Haná ethnographic region, the event has gradually opened its gates to guests from other regions of the Czech Republic as well as from abroad. Another important addition are some complementary programs with brass bands, popular folk groups, dulcimer bands, theater shows for children, rides on historical carriages through the town park, and an exhibition of these carriages with promenade concerts and a fashion show of period costumes from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The atmosphere of a true Haná festivity is completed with a rich folk fair and demonstration of artisan´s work. More informaiton at www.mestopv.cz , www.klubduha.cz
