26^th Encounter of Folklore Orchestras

6 to 8 November 2009, Prague 

This festival is unique in that the concert programs are followed by an informal get-together of musicians and listeners, in which everyone may sing and dance his or her favorite song. The event focuses on the musical expression of different reigons of the Czech Republic in relation to the vital events accompanying human beings all life. Another special feature of the festival is a collective singing of all the orchestras with the public. The event begins on Friday with an encounter of children´s folk orchestras, followed by a children´s folklore party. The main festival day is Saturday, dedicated to the encounter of adult groups and the afore-mentioned get-together. It is held in the House of Culture Vltavská (Kulturní Dům Vltavská).
