22nd Children´s Folklore Days at Liptál

12 to 14 June, Liptál

Children´s Folklore Days at Liptál were first held in 1988 only for children´s folk ensembles from the surroundings of the town. Meant as part of the celebrations of Children¨s Day, it included a fair as well. Today the festival program invariably includes a contest of child singers for the prize called “Liptál´s Little Songbird” and an exhibition of artwork by local schoolchildren. The main programs take place on an open-air stage in a magnificent natural setting.

Liptál is a small town in east Moravia, 9 km from Vsetín on the road from Vsetín to Zlín. Among its landmarks, particularly worth seeing is the baroque castle built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
