55th International Folklore Festival at Červený Kostelec

19 to 23 August, Červený Kostelec

The history of the festival dates back to 1952, when a celebration was held around the ruins of the Rýzmburk castle. The Červený Kostelec festival attracts visitors especially by the regular presence of foreign ensembles from different parts of the world. However, it also invites groups from the surroundings and children´s ensembles. A nice feature is that every evening program is followed by an informal meeting of the groups to play and dance together.

Červený Kostelec lies in the scenic eastern foothills of the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), in the middle of the Náchod-Trutnov region. The town is spread on a rugged area on the southwestern slopes of Jestřebí hory (Hawk Mountains) at 400 m above sea level. It is a natural starting point for trips to one of the most beautiful regions of the Czech Republic.
