16^th Central Bohemian Folklore Festival

The opportunities to admire the beauty of folk costumes and dances and to listen to the melodics of folk music are becoming increasingly frequent in Prague and its surroundings. One such already regular opportunity is the three-day Central Bohemian Folklore Festival, held in the first decade of May at Tuchlovice near Kladno. About twenty child and adult ensembles from Bohemia, Moravia, and abroad participate usually in the event, but the core is formed by folk groups from central Bohemia and from Prague. From Friday to Sunday, the dancers, singers, and musicians perform in a number of programs in the village square and in the specially rebuilt summer cinema, where the main festival performances are held. This so far isolated cultural event of central Bohemia is currently rated by specialists among the leading folk festivals in the whole country. More information at www.folklornisdruzeni.cz.
